A local court has rejected the bail plea of a man accused in a murder case during the riots in the district.

Muzaffarnagar: A local court has rejected the bail plea of a man accused in a murder case during the riots in the district.

District and Sessions Judge Vijai Luxchmi yesterday rejected the bail plea of the accused Gautem in Bahawdi killing case.

According to the prosecution, a youth Aman was shot dead by the five persons at Bahawdi village under Phugana police station in the district on October 26, 2013. The accused apparently thought that Aman belonged to a different community.
The victim`s father Sanyasi Singh had lodged an FIR against Gautem, Sorabh, Suresh, Omsingh and Ranvir in the murder case at Bahawdi village.

The Special Investigation Team, probing the riots had found all five accused involved in Aman Singh`s murder.

Over 60 persons were killed and more than 40,000 displaced in communal violence in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas in September last year.
