Bank officer held for accepting bribe

A bank officer was arrested by an anti-corruption team for allegedly accepting bribe from a farmer to increase the credit limit of his Kisan credit card in Gandwar area here, police said on Tuesday.

Ballia: A bank officer was arrested by an anti-corruption team for allegedly accepting bribe from a farmer to increase the credit limit of his Kisan credit card in Gandwar area here, police said on Tuesday.

Pankaj Srivastava, an officer of Poorvanchal Bank, was arrested yesterday while taking a bribe of Rs 4,000 from Mukesh, a farmer, to extend the credit limit of his Kisan credit card from Rs 60,000 to Rs 80,000, they said.

A case has been registered against Srivastava, police said.
