New Delhi: Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma may have expressed regret over his remarks against Mulayam Singh Yadav, but the Samajwadi Party chief is still not satisfied and is unwilling to accept anything less than an apology, if not an outright resignation.

Reports quoted Mulayam as saying that ‘there is a difference between expressing regret and apologising’.

Mulayam reportedly said that a final decision on the matter would be taken at the SP’s parliamentary party meet, which will be held tomorrow at 9.30 am.

The SP chief, who met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi today in connection with the matter, said that Verma should apologise in Parliament.

Gandhi is reported to have pleaded Mulayam not to gun for Verma’s resignation.

However, SP MPs stayed firm on their demand and pressed for Verma’s resignation in Parliament.

What beni prasad verma is doing is the teaching of mulayam singh yadav, so rather to regret mulayam should be happy for the same.
