Ghaziabad: A CBI team from Dehradun along with local police raided the house of former minister DP Yadav in Rajnagar area here after a CBI court held him guilty in Janata Party leader Mahendra Singh Bhati murder case of 1992, police said on Thursday.
DySP Ran Vijay Singh said that CBI special court at Dehradun had issued a non-bailable warrant against Yadav after his conviction in the 23-year-old murder case.
A seven-member-CBI team reached Ghaziabad last night and requested Senior Superintendent of Police to provide local police assistance to execute the non-bailable warrant against Yadav.
"I was instructed by the district police chief to accompany the CBI Dehradun team along with police force from Kavi Nagar Police station," he said.
"During the raid at his Raj Nagar residence, Yadav's father informed that he has gone to his sugar mill. After collecting some information from his father the CBI team went back," he said.
