Agra: In a unique way to bribe an examiner, a student of Bhim Rao Ambedkar University here stapled Rs 500 currency note on his answer sheet to get passing marks.

The matter came into limelight when an evaluator in Agra found a currency note worth Rs 500 inside an answer sheet with a note requesting the evaluator to give passing marks to the student.

According to the invigilators, students are using money for marks and many other tricks to influence the teachers, assuming it will help them secure passing marks.

Speaking to Zee Media Corp, an invigilator Ravi Sinha said, “In the process of checking the answer sheets, we are coming across many strange things apart from answers.

Some have written – 'Guruji humen pass kara do' while few wrote some emotional messages like – 'Mere father ko blood cancer hai please mujhe pass kara do'. They (students) even write that since they are poor we should give them passing marks.”

Furthermore, he said, “A student have even attached a note of Rs 500 inside the answer sheet in order to lure the invigilator to give him passing marks.”

Sinha also said that it was not a new phenomenon, earlier also few students had pleaded for pass marks by making strange excuses.

However, the evaluators said that these tricks does not influence the teacher's mind.

Reacting over the revelation, coordinator of evaluation, Bhupendra Sharma, said, “Money is found in some answer sheets and such cases are reported every year. There is nothing new in it.”

On being asked by the Zee News reporter about the reason behind such acts, Sharma said, “Few students keep money inside the answer sheets according to their status thinking that this is a unique method of bribing the teacher. But unfortunately such tricks do not work.”

Notably, this is a matter of introspection since the ethical decisions that students face in an academic environment are similar to those they will encounter routinely in the professional world and even in their day-to-day domestic life. So, the matter of concern if students get involved in such kind of bribery acts what will be the country's future?
