BJP built up Kairana exodus issue to gain political mileage: Mayawati

New Delhi: Bhaujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati on Tuesday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party for raising Kairana mass exodus issue and alleged that the party brought the issue to divert people's attention from other important issues.

Talking to media, Mayawati said, "Kairana incident was raked by BJP as part of conspiracy to divert people’s attention from its defeat in Rajya Sabha and Council polls in UP and wants to gain political mileage."

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister was addressing the media today where she accused the saffron party of attempting to instigate riots in the state. She also thanked the media for bringing out the truth of 'Kairana exodus' before people.

"It seems that BJP wanted to instigate communal tension in western Uttar Pradesh to gain political mileage but it failed miserably as the media has debunked the myth of Kairana exodus," Mayawati said.

"Our party and all the peace loving people of the state would like to thank the media for their role otherwise communal tension could have spread across Western Uttar Pradesh due to BJP’s false propaganda," she concluded by saying.
