BJP leader Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti attacked in Fatehpur, one arrested

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti escaped an attack on her life in Uttar Pradesh`s Fatehpur on Sunday.

The attack took place while the BJP leader was attending a family function of a party worker by four people in Fatehpur.
While one person has been arrested, three others are still absconding after the attack.

This is the third attempt on the life of a BJP leader in the state.
In separate incidents, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Vijay Pandit and Om Vir Singh were killed by gunmen in Greater Noida and Muzaffarnagar.

The Centre had termed the law and order situation in the state deplorable.
