Lucknow: Samajwadi Party on Monday accused BJP of "blowing up even small incidents" and giving them "communal colours" to "orchestrate" riots in Uttar Pradesh.
"BJP is trying to vitiate communal amity in the state for the past three years. Even small incidents are blown up and given communal colours for orchestrating riots," senior SP leader Shivpal Yadav alleged here.
He said that such an attempt to "orchestrate" communal riots would be thwarted by the government and strict action will be taken against those responsible.
"Even officers, if found lax in duty will be dealt with strictly," Yadav added.
Meanwhile, commenting upon BJP submitting a memorandum to the Governor and announcing to approach the President against the Samajwadi Party, he said the saffron party should organise a sit-in at Lok Sabha to ensure development of the state.
Giving details of funds released by Centre on various heads, Yadav said, "They should stage dharna at Lok Sabha for development of UP. The Centre is meting out step-motherly treatment to the state and not releasing its share."
The SP leader said, while the state government distributed over Rs 3,446 crores to 44 lakh farmers affected by unseasonal rains and hailstorm, Centre did not give a single penny.
"BJP is the party of liars. They are expert in rumour mongering due to which it is in the Centre. People of the country, however have understood its designs and will not fall in their trap again," Yadav added.
About the law and order issue raked by the Opposition, Yadav said the there is no such problem and "tourists and investments" are increasing in the state.
"Had there been a law and order problem, the number of tourists visiting Uttar Pradesh would have come down. But, their number is increasing so as the investments. Per capita income of the state has also increased during the present regime," he claimed.
Speaking about BJP state president Laxmikant Bajpai, Yadav said "He is upset due to party's poor performance in all elections including by-polls, cantonment board or others.
