Lucknow: A 35-year-old Block Development Committee member was killed allegedly by some unidentified persons in the wee hours today in Kakori area here, police said.
The incident took place at around 4 am when Anil Rawat (35) was sleeping in his house in Maura village, ASP, Rural, Habibul Hasan said, adding, four-five persons entered his house with the purpose of looting it and attacked him with sticks.
He was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, he said.
No arrests have so far been made in this connection and the police is probing the matter, Hasan said.
