Kanpur: Body of a 30-year-old man was found hanging inside a ladies coach's toilet in the Unchahar Express, a Government Railway Police (GRP) official said on Tuesday.
The incident came to light last night when a female passenger at the Kanpur railway station tried to visit the train's toilet but found it locked from the inside. She also knocked on the toilet door continuously but when no one answered she informed the Railway police, a GRP spokesperson said.
The GRP personnel then found the body hung by a piece of cloth inside the toilet, he said.
As per an identity card found on the body, the deceased has been identified as one Shyam Lal, hailing from East Champaran in Bihar, he added.
The body has been sent for postmortem and his relatives have been informed. Investigations are underway to see whether it is a case of suicide or murder, a GRP official said.
