BSP expels IAS officer`s daughter for pressurising officers
BSP Tuesday expelled Disha Chamber, vice chairman of Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation (SCFDC) and the daughter of a senior IAS officer.
Lucknow: BSP Tuesday expelled Disha Chamber,
vice chairman of Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Caste Finance and
Development Corporation (SCFDC) and the daughter of a senior
IAS officer, on charges of putting undue pressure of
government officers to get her personal work done.
"The decision to expel Chamber from the party and also
from the post of vice chairman of SCFDC was taken by BSP state
president last night after charges of pressuring officers
against her were found to be true," BSP zonal coordinator and
MP Jugal Kishore said in a statement released here today.
Disha, the daughter of senior IAS officer and Principal
Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, JN Chamber, joined BSP in
"She was given due security and made vice chairman of
SCFDC but there were complaints against her that she put undue
pressure of officers for getting her works done. She also took
benefit of her father`s name for the job and she did not have
coordination with party workers," Kishore said.
He said while Disha was initially given the task to work
for the party in Hardoi, she was shifted to Raebareli after
complaints were received against her.
"Finding all the allegations of party workers against
Disha to be true, the party decided to expel her," Kishore
Before joining BSP, 25-year-old Chamber had joined the
Youth Congress in 2008 through Rahul Gandhi`s talent search
Her IAS father is considered close to Chief Minister
Mayawati and had been her Principal Secretary twice and also
held the post of Principal Secretary, Home.
When asked about her expulsion, sources close to Disha
said she had resigned from BSP and the post of vice chairman
of SCFDC herself as she was uncomfortable in the party.
