BSP leader held for manhandling policemen

A local BSP leader has been arrested on charges of manhandling policemen and forcibly taking away his brother from police custody, officials said on Wednesday.

Gorakhpur: A local BSP leader has been
arrested on charges of manhandling policemen and forcibly
taking away his brother from police custody, officials said
on Wednesday.

BSP district in-charge Vinod Upadhyay allegedly stormed
Kauwabagh police post yesterday after hearing the arrest of
his brother Sanjay.

Sanjay was arrested on the charge of beating Rakesh
Dwivedi in Mohaddipur area.

Vinod reached the police post and allegedly took away his
brother after an altercation with constable Yadvendra and
manhandling police personnel, they said, adding the duo then
fled away in a four-wheeler.

Police managed to arrest Vinod from H N Singh crossing
while his brother is still at large.
