BSP leader held for threatening in Lokayukta case

Jhansi: A ruling BSP leader was Friday arrested for allegedly threatening a contractor to withdraw his complaint to Lokayukta against former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha, police sources said here.

Dayaram Kushwaha allegedly threatened contractor Arvind Soni in his house and asked him to withdraw his complaint in which he had alleged that Kushwaha possessed assests disproportionate to known sources of income, they said.

Police have arrested Dayaram.

Chief Minister Mayawati had removed Kushwaha from her cabinet in the wake of alleged financial irregularities in National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
