Lucknow: A case has been registered against two officers in connection with the suicide of a revenue department officer, who had accused senior officers of harassing him.

An FIR has been lodged against sub-divisional magistrate Mohanlalganj Sunil Chaudhary and tehsildar J P Singh Chauhan on charges of abetment of suicide at Alambagh police station, they said.

The two officers have already been placed under suspension by the administration.

Baburam Maurya, who was posted in Mohanlalganj tehsil, had allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Mawaiya railway crossing in Alambagh on January 26.

In his suicide note, Babulal, who belonged to a backward community, had said that he was taking the step due to alleged harassment by senior officers.

Family members of Babulal also alleged that harassment by his senior officers forced him to commit suicide.
