Allahabad: Four persons died due to
intense cold in the district even as dense fog disrupted rail
traffic in the area, officials said on Saturday.

Two ill-clad unidentified youth were found in an
unconscious state near the railway station here last night and
taken by GRP personnel to the railway hospital where they
died.

Another youth Shiv Kumar Maurya died while undergoing
a fitness test for recruitment of police personnel here. His
friends said he apparently died due to severe cold.

A 62-year-old villager died in Karchhana tehsil of the
district, 40 kms from the city, due to cold.

Light showers in the region two days ago led to a dip
in temperature in the district. While the minimum temperature
was recorded at six degrees, the maximum was 17 degrees
Celsius.

Heavy fog in the district has also disrupted train
services.
