Lucknow: Congress on Thursday said it will move
court seeking a CBI probe into the murder of Uttar Pradesh
health department officers.

"We will file a PIL demanding CBI probe into the murder
of Chief Medical Officers Vinod Kumar Arya and B P Singh,"
AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh told reporters here.
Singh, CMO (family welfare), was shot dead by two
unidentified persons on April 2 at Vishesh Khand area when he
was on a routine morning walk.

In October last year, Arya, who was posted on the same
post, was shot dead near his Vikas Nagar residence when he had
gone for morning walk.

The Congress leader alleged honest officers in UP are
being pressurised and harassed.

He said the party will also demand CBI probe into the
mysterious death of UP secretary housing Harminder Raj Singh.

"The then secretary housing H R Singh died under
mysterious circumstances and it was claimed that he committed
suicide," he said.

The senior IAS officer had allegedly committed suicide at
his official residence here by shooting himself with his
licensed revolver in Nov 29, 2009.

The Congress leader alleged officers against whom action
was taken for irregularities in MNREGA were reinstated and
given prize postings.
"The government instead of providing information under
RTI is concealing the same. We request the state information
commissioner to ensure relevant documents were given otherwise
we will be forced to move Chief Information Commissioner," he
said.

"Congress will also move a PIL on the manner in which
sugar mills have been sold in the state," he said.
