Cong workers quit, protest party`s nominee choice

As many as 349 Cong activists sent in their resignations to Sonia Gandhi protesting the candidature of Keshav Babu Shivhare from Hamirpur.

visit, as many as 349 Congress activists on Tuesday sent in their
resignations to Congress president Sonia Gandhi protesting the
candidature of Keshav Babu Shivhare from Hamirpur.

District Congress president Yogendra Singh and 349
office-bearers resigned alleging that Shivhare had criminal
background, party leaders said.

They demanded replacement of the party nominee from the
assembly seat.

Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to
reach Hamirpur tomorrow.
