Lucknow: Seeking to regain its moorings in the key state of Uttar Pradesh, Congress will hold a three-day camp this week in Varanasi - the Lok Sabha constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi - to garner support of youths.

"The party is organising a three-day camp in Sarnath, Varanasi from February 28 in which 200 youth workers will be trained about Congress constitution, importance of field work, history of the party and other aspects of politics," UP PCC chief Nirmal Khatri told reporters here today.

"The objective of the camp is to prepare an energetic team of youths in Modi's constituency," he said.

Congress had won only Rae Bareli (Sonia Gandhi) and Amethi (Rahul Gandhi) out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP, where BJP and its ally Apna Dal emerged victories in 73 seats.

The youths will also be told about how to deal with issues related to the common man, Khatri said.

Congress National General Secretary Madhusudan Mistry, retired Justice Haider Abbas and senior party leaders will address the camp.

On the last day of the camp a 'padyatra' will be taken out that will end at the Dashashavmedh Ghat.

Replying to a question, Khatri said Congress proposed "rail roko, sadak roko" campaign on March 12 but it will ensure that common man was not made to suffer.
