Amethi (UP): A policeman was on Tuesday injured
when Congress workers allegedly clashed with police during a
nomination procession of a party candidate here.
Om Prakash Chaurasiya was seriously injured when Congress
workers indulged in brick batting after being stopped from
taking out a nomination procession of sitting MLA of Amethi
Assembly constituency, Amita Singh, SP Vijay Singh Meena said.
Police resorted to lathicharge in a bid to control the
mob, he said, adding that an FIR was being lodged in this
connection.
