Muzaffarnagar: A young couple allegedly attempted suicide by consuming poison after their families opposed the relationship as they belong to different community, police said on Sunday.
Sabuddin (25) and Shushma (21) were in love and wanted to get married but their families were against it, they said.
The duo attempted to commit suicide yesterday by consuming poison but were rushed to a hospital, where their condition is stated to be serious.
