Couple murdered in UP

Meerut: A couple was allegedly murdered at their residence in Brahmpuri police station area here on Tuesday, police said.

Monu (33) and his wife Lalita (30) were found dead inside their house in Era Gardens this morning, Circle Officer Vijay Pratap Singh said.

Their throats were slit with a sharp-edged weapon, he said, adding the police was informed about the bodies by the locals.

The initial investigation reveal that the murderer must be known to the couple, Singh said.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem, he said, adding a case has been registered and investigation is underway.
