Sitapur: A local court has directed the police to lodge an FIR against Uttar Pradesh Minister Ramhet Bharti for allegedly threatening a local resident.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Kushalpal passed the order yesterday while taking up an application filed by Moolchand Gautam on November 2.

In the application, Gautam alleged that Bharti and seven others had threatened and asked him to withdraw a criminal case filed by him against Kuldeep under the Scheduled
Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The minister, however, said that he had no knowledge about the court`s order. The FIR has not been lodged yet.
