Ghaziabad: A District Court has rejected an application of Utsav Sharma, who assaulted Aarushi's father Rajesh Talwar, saying that he is feigning mental illness to seek relief.

District and Session Judge Vishnu Chand Gupta rejected his application yesterday.

Utsav's case was referred by the jail doctors during his detention after he assaulted Aarushi's father Rajesh Talwar outside a district court here on Jan 25.

During his detention of 57 days, he behaved like a mentally disturbed person whereas Chief Judicial Magistrate D D Ojha found him normal during the interrogation.

Ojha had rejected Utsav's application which he forwarded at the district Court.

He was released on bail granted by the Allahabad High Court in March.
