Noida: Cracks appeared on Thursday among farmers agitating against land acquisition with peasants from 17 villages holding a panchayat, forming Kisan Bachao Sangarsh Samiti and rejecting an accord reached between Noida authorities and Kisan Sangharsh Samiti.

The panchayat held at Chaura village said it was found that land at 17 villages land was acquired prior to 1997, as against the earlier assessment of 11 villages.

It demanded 5 percent developed plot, abadi land (farmers' settlement) regularization as existing today and hike in land compensation.

Noida authorities claimed the farmers' demand was unjustified as the developed plot scheme was announced from 1997.

At the panchayat at Chaura village, a committee comprising 5 members from each village was formed which will collectively decide on Saturday the course of the agitation and negotiate with authorities.

Some of the committee members included Pratap Chauhan from Salarpur, Dharamvir Singh from Baraula, Sunder Baba from Agahpur, Rohtash Baisoya from Morna, Begh Raj Gujjar from Atta and Chaudhary bali Singh from Nithari.
