Kanpur: Dacoits killed two children of a family and looted lakhs of rupees in Shivrajpur area of the district on Saturday, police said here.
The incident took place around 5 AM in the morning when
six dacoits barged into the house of business man Shailendra
Yadav, they said.
Shalini (15) and Betu (13) were strangled to death by the
robbers after the two raised alarms, they said, adding that
the children were beaten with lathis and rods too.
The dacoits also assaulted Yadav and his wife Meera when
the couple tried to save their children. They then fled with
gold, silver and lakhs of cash, police said.
The couple have been admitted to a hospital where their
condition is reported to be stable, DIG Amitabh Yash said.
A case has been registered in this regard, the DIG added.
