New Delhi: A day after a fresh forensic report revealed that meat sample recovered from outside the Dadri lynching victim's Mohammed Akhlaq, was of a cow, the accused's family are planning to register a complaint in this regard.
The accused Vishal's father Sanjay Rana told News18 that they will be filing a complaint in police station at 4 pm today against Akhlaq's family for cow slaughter as well as consuming beef.
"We will be filing a complaint against Akhlaq and his family for cow slaughter. We want the judiciary to take action against the family for consumig cow meat," accused's father Sanjay Rana said.
On being asked about what his son's involvement in the sensational Dadri murder case, Rana said, "Court will only decide if my son Vishal is guilty or not. We highly condemn Akhlaq's murder, however, we also demand the government and the judiciary to take action against the family for cow slaughter and hurting people's seniments."
In September last year, 50-year-old Akhlaq was dragged out of his home and killed by a mob of at least 100 in Dadri district of Uttar Pradesh over rumours that he had stored beef.
The Uttar Pradesh police collected meat samples from a dustbin outside Akhlaq's home and quoted a local doctor as saying that the meat found was not that of a cow but a mutton.
However, eight months after the incident, in a major twist, a forensic report submitted in court on Tuesday said that meat seized by police from a dustbin outside Akhlaq's home was beef or that of cow or its progeny.
The finding was in contrast to the preliminary report of an enquiry by the Uttar Pradesh Veterinary department which said the meat over which Mohammad Akhlaq, was lynched in Dadri was mutton of goat progeny.
According to police, the meat was sent for testing only to establish the motive for Akhlaq's killing.
Akhlaq's family, which has always denied eating beef on the day of the attack, has rejected the Mathura lab report. "Dadri police said mutton, now you are saying it is beef. This is all politics," said deceased's brother Chand Mohammad.
"This report of Mathura lab has come after six months. At that time, a report of Veterinary department had also come, but it didn't say the same thing. We don't know what they have done and what they have done with it?," he added.
It is to be noted that cow slaughter is a crime in Uttar Pradesh.
