Lucknow: Former UP Chief Minister and Jan Kranti Party patron Kalyan Singh on Tuesday said he was returning to his parent party BJP and the date for his re-entry would be announced soon.
"Several rounds of talks have already been held with state and national-level leaders and a final decision on it (re-induction) will be taken after a meeting with party chief Nitin Gadkari," he told reporters here.
"As campaigning for assembly polls in some states is on and leaders are busy there, a date for my return has not been finalised as yet but it will be announced soon," the former BJP leader said.
Singh, a one-time poster boy of the saffron party, said he had a formula for strengthening the BJP.
If accepted, it could take the party to new heights, he said adding he would leave no stone unturned to make it strong in Uttar Pradesh.
Last week, the former Chief Minister had said he favoured merging his party with the BJP at an appropriate time for uniting "Rastravadi" (nationalist) forces.
About his exit and re-entry into the BJP, Singh had said only time had done whatever had happened and it had made both (him and the party) understand that there was need for nationalist forces to unite.
