Decision on degree college affiliation in UP by May 12

The Uttar Pradesh government has directed the higher education department to finalise proposals of affiliation received from the degree colleges in the state by next week.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has directed the higher education department to finalise proposals of affiliation received from the degree colleges in the state by next week.

"Decision on all the 600 proposals received from the
degree colleges regarding affiliation should be taken up by
May 12 and the regional higher education officers should
examine the proposals," Higher Education Minister Rakesh Dhar
Tripathi said during a review meeting last evening.

He said that the government was committed to set up
degree colleges in 41 districts having low enrolment rate and
directed the department officials to identify land and submit
proposals with the government.

He directed the officials to complete recruitment on 524
vacant seats of teachers in various universities including
Lucknow and Gorakhpur.

"It is the responsibility of the registrars to complete
recruitment process by the start of the next academic
session," Tripathi said.
