Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh DGP`s office has
sought a report from Lucknow district administration on
violence during a protest by gram sewaks.

"The DGP office has sought a report from the district

whom jumped into the Gomti river to save themselves.

Though both the parties allegedly exchanged fire, it was
not confirmed by the administration or police.

A case was lodged at Wazirganj police station under
relevant sections of the IPC, Public Properties Act and
Criminal Amendment Law Act and 56 people had been arrested, IG

He said that the mob torched a number of vehicles,
including a government one, indulged in brick batting and
vandalism.

On alleged firing by a Deputy Superintendent of Police
