Amethi: Irked over his absence from the OPD, attendants of a patient on Saturday allegedly thrashed a doctor posted at the community health centre in the Jagdishpur area here, police said.
The attendants barged into the room of doctor R L Yadav after not finding him in the OPD and beat him following a heated debate, DSP Durgesh Kumar Singh said.
On getting information, authorities rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, Singh said adding that police and PAC personnel have been deployed in the area.
