Eight fall ill after consuming poisonous tea

Mau: Eight persons were taken ill after
they allegedly consumed poisonous tea in Manikpur village
here, police said on Friday.

The incident took place last night when Sukhia and his
family members consumed tea and complained of uneasiness, they
said, adding that all of them were rushed to the hospital,
where their condition was stated to be stable.

Police said prima facie it appeared that the family
had mistakenly taken some pesticide in the tea.
Further probe is on into the matter, they added.
