Eight passengers of a Patna-bound train were allegedly drugged and looted by a gang of robbers, police said here Wednesday.



Kanpur: Eight passengers of a Patna-bound train were allegedly drugged and looted by a gang of robbers, police said here Wednesday.

Eight passengers of Amrapali Express en-route to Patna were looted by the gang, who allegedly mixed drugs in their soft drink, shortly after the train left New Delhi, railway
police said.
The passengers fell unconscious after having the soft drink following which the gang looted cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh and other valuables and fled, they said.

Seven persons are members of a family of Bihar`s Siwan district, while the eighth passenger hails from West Bengal.
A case has been registered against the accused and the matter is under investigation, they said.
