Elderly couple strangulated to death

Lucknow: An elderly couple was today found
dead in Lakhimpur Kheri district with police suspecting that
they were murdered for their property.

The bodies of Subedar (70) and his wife Haseen (65)
were recovered from a secluded area in Tedua village this
morning, police said.

"They were strangulated to death. Prima facie it seems
to be a case of double murder for property`s sake," a police
official said.

The couple was childless and Subedar had six brothers,
he said.
