Lucknow: Congress in Uttar Pradesh on Monday
asked the Mayawati government to issue orders to ensure that
bureaucrats follow protocol while dealing with elected
"The officers in this government were not available
even for public representatives like us. Contrary to the
protocol, they are not available of phones and never ring
back. This is the pitiable situation and should be taken care
of.. Even members of the ruling parties and ministers are not
taken seriously by officers," Congress Legislative Party
leader Pramod Tiwari said while raising the issue during Zero
Hour in the UP Assembly.
He said that earlier orders issued in this regard by
the Speaker was not followed and there was a need to deal with
the situation strictly.
State Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Lalji Verma in
his reply said that the government would ensure that
directives issued earlier should be followed in letter and
spirit and officer should follow due protocol while dealing
with members of the House.
