Ex-MLA of SP holds govt officials hostage, held
A former Samajwadi Party MLA was arrested for allegedly taking three govt officials hostage in Bhupauli area of the district.
Chandauli: A former Samajwadi Party MLA
was on Friday arrested for allegedly taking three government
officials hostage in Bhupauli area of the district, police
Prabhunarayan Yadav and district president of SP, who
were on a dharna for last four days protesting against a non
functional canal in the area, today held three government
officials captive for four hours, police said.
They were arrested on the complaint of Phoolchand, SDO of
The SDO in his complaint has alleged that he along with
two other officials, Ramchandra Vivhwakarma and Dayaram
Yaadv, were taken hostage by Yadav for atleast four hours,
An FIR was registered and duo were arrested and presented
in court, police said.
However, after being released by the court Yadav termed
the allegations as baseless.
"We were sitting on a dharna for last 4 days as the
Bhupauli pump canal was not functional due to which farmers
are facing problems," Yadav said.
