New Delhi: The sting operation of Zeenews has captured the ‘contractors of votes’, those who have mastered in the art of pulling crowds in election rallies and campaign trails at the cost of money.
Zeenews met three such agents in three different places of Uttar Pradesh. Each of them is an expert in arranging crowds for election rallies. The operation has laid bare the ugly face of democracy.
In Muzafarnagar, we met a person in the name of Deepak Balmiki. Our reporter told him that we are from a political party called Rastriya Lanka, which really does not exist.
Reporter: The name of our party is Rastriya Lanka. We don’t have a strong mass base. How much it will cost per 1000 people?
Agent: It will cost at least Rs 2 Lakh.
Reporter: Hope we won’t face any problem for the gathering. What about the sloganeering?
Agent: We will arrange the crowd packed in four to five buses from outside. We will prompt them about the slogans.
Reporter: How much we have to pay you in advance?
Agent: For this sort of service we always charge the entire amount in advance.
Reporter: The whole amount?
Reporter: Who will convince the crowd?
Agent: That you leave to us.
