Fahimpur case: Key accused freed due to no proof

Eight people were shot dead when they were returning after court hearing at Fahimpur village in the district on January 12, 2000.



Muzaffarnagar: The main accused of the 11-year-old Fahimpur murder case was acquitted by a local court due to lack of evidence.

Additional district sessions judge Nasir Ahmad yesterday acquitted Dharmender, who was arrested after nine years of the incident, after all eyewitnesses turned hostile.

The other five accused in the case are already serving life term.

Eight people were shot dead when they were returning after court hearing at Fahimpur village in the district on January 12, 2000.

The accused had dragged the victims from a bus and shot them dead.
