Family won't cremate martyred jawan Sudees Kumar until CM Akhilesh comes to Sambhal

Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh: The family of martyred jawan Sudees Kumar has decided to not perform his last rites until Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav doesn't pay them a visit.

The family and members of his Gurjar community have alleged a bais on the part of the CM when it comes to honouring martyrs from the state.

Community leaders said that Akhilesh should personally come to the village of the slain soldier to register his respect or the braveheart.

Sudees of 6 Jat regiment was killed in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

24-year-old Kumar is survived by his elderly parents, wife and a four-month-old daughter.

He had joined Indian Army in 2013 and became the first person from his village to do so.

"He was a thorough professional and loved his job to the core. The nation will remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and his devotion to duty will continue to motivate the future generations," a defence spokesman said.
