A 26-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in Badkali village in the district here.

Muzaffarnagar: A 26-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in Badkali village in the district here.

Sachin Tyagi, the brother of former village head Bipin Tyagi, shot himself yesterday, police said on Wednesday.

The victim was under depression but the cause of suicide was yet to be ascertained, SHO of Kotwali police station Chaman Singh said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, he added.

In another incident, a 40-year-old farmer, Kirshanpal, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his field in Rehmatpur village under Bhopa police station area here last evening.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, SHO Promod Pawar said, adding, the cause of death was yet to be ascertained and the matter was being investigated.
