Farmers in Greater Noida protest for better compensation

Greater Noida: Close on the heels of the
Bhatta-Parsaul agitation, over 200 farmers in nearby Roza
Yakoobpur village on Wednesday held demonstration, demanding
residential plots in return of their acquired lands.
They withdrew their dharna after getting assurance from
district administration, an official said.

Officials sought three months time to consider their
demands, which included 120 square meter residential plots in
return of their occupied lands.

"With the acquisition of land we have lost all the
livelihood," claimed a farmer.
"We also want authority to set up industries so that we
could get employment," he said.

City Magistrate Sanjay Chauhan and Greater Noida
authority officials had reached the dharna site and pacified
them.
