FIR against CDRI director for `non-cooperation` in Census work

An FIR was lodged against the director of the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) here for allegedly not cooperating in Census work, police said here on Saturday.



Lucknow: An FIR was lodged against the director of the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) here for allegedly not cooperating in Census work, police said here on Saturday.

Tehsildar of Bakshi ka Talab Devendra Pratap Singh lodged the FIR against CDRI director Tushar Kanta Chakraborty yesterday for not providing staff required for the Census exercise, they said.

According to the FIR, 50 employees of the Central institute were deployed as deputy supervisors for Census work and CDRI authorities were informed, police said.

It has been alleged that the CDRI director did not allow the employees to join the work.

The Central Drug Research Institute was established under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, an autonomous registered Society of the Government of India, as a centre of excellence dedicated to drug research.
