Lucknow: Ten people were on Wednesday killed in
separate road accidents caused due to dense fog, which hit
normal life in Uttar Pradesh and adversely affected air and
Four people were killed in Barabanki, three each in
Lucknow and Bareilly in road accidents caused due to poor
visibility on account of fog, officials said.
A thick blanket of fog covered large parts of the state
and the visibility in the morning hours came down to under 100
Rail traffic was also adversely hit with most of the
trains running several hours behind schedule and some also
being cancelled, Railway officials said.
Trains were either standing on the tracks or moving at a
very slow pace because of poor visibility, they said.
At Amausi airport here, several flights were cancelled
due to poor visibility.
