Four dozen suspected men in Begum Bagh`s murder case, in which four members of a family were killed, have been taken into custody for interrogation," DIG Police Akhil Kumar said.
The police suspect a property dispute behind the killings but is yet to ascertain the motive behind it. However, no incidence of theft had been reported at the murder site.
Meanwhile, reacting strongly to the murders, trader
association, Samyukta Vyaapar Sangh and Abu Lane Vyapaar Sangh
have decided to stage a dharna today.
"As long as Meerut police do not arrest the culprits,
Sangh will not sit silent," Sangh President Arun Vashisht
55-year-old liquor trader Narendra Kumar was found
murdered along with his wife Sangeeta (48) and two sons aged
14 and 12 at his residence on May 30.
