Four men sentenced to 10 years for smuggling drugs in UP

A fast track court here Wednesday sentenced four men to ten years of imprisonment for smuggling drugs in a seven-year-old case.

Muzaffarnagar: A fast track court here Wednesday sentenced four men to ten years of imprisonment for smuggling drugs in a seven-year-old case.
Judge Manoj Kumar Shukla also imposed a fine of Rs 1,50,000 each on the accused Mehboob, Lekhraj, Yashwant and Gur Mohar Singh after holding them guilty under the Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act.
According to prosecution, the convicts were arrested on April 10, 2003, after eight kg of "todapost" (the flower from which opium is extracted) was recovered from them at
Kairana town in the district.
