Girl abducted, gang-raped in UP

A 20-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three persons in Sakoti village of Shamli district following which the accused were arrested, police said on Friday.

Muzaffarnagar: A 20-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three persons in Sakoti village of Shamli district following which the accused were arrested, police said on Friday.

The incident took place on May 25 when the victim was abducted by three persons including a minor while she was working in fields with her mother, they said.

The trio tied the victim's mother to a tree and fled with the girl, police said.

She was rescued yesterday and the accused identified as Rajnish and Sachin along with the minor were arrested.

The medical examination has confirmed that the girl was raped, police said, adding, further investigation is underway.
