Meerut: In a shocking incident, a girl was allegedly raped by her step-father and later by his friends, police said today. Shafiq, a resident of Tihai locality in Bavana area here, allegedly raped his daughter on May 19 and later took obscene pictures of her, DIG (Meerut) Prem Prakash said on Friday.
Later, the accused started blackmailing her daughter and forced her to have a sexual relationship with his friends also, he said.
A case has been registered against Shafiq and his accomplices on a complaint filed by the victim`s mother Zareena and the hunt is on to arrest the culprits, Prakash said.
This is the second incident of rape in the region within a week. On June 22, an 18-year-old student had committed suicide in the Baghpat district after she was allegedly raped by two of her brothers.
