Etawah: In a horrific incident, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly abducted, raped, murdered and her body set on fire in a village here, police said on Saturday.
After raping and murdering her, the accused set the girl`s body ablaze, police said adding the incident happened in Chandrapura Nihalsingh village.
The teenager went to fetch water last evening but did not return home, they said.
Late in the night, locals, on seeing fire erupting in an agriculture field, rushed there and found the badly burnt body of the girl.
An FIR had been registered against girl`s neighbour and his sister-in-law in this connection following a complaint by the victim`s mother, police said.
The accused have been arrested, they said.
