Lucknow: Demanding tickets to those who
belong to Shia community, the All India Shia Personal Law Board on Sunday said political parties should consider candidature
of Shias in election as per their population.
The demand was made in Shia Mahasammelan organised here to
discuss the demands and problems being faced by the community.
There are many posts which do not require winning
elections and are filled on the recommendations by the Prime
Minister and chief ministers, but Shia community has been
ignored, the Board members alleged.
"We demand that the Shia community should be considered
while filling such posts," they said.
They also demanded constitution of a commission at the
Centre and states to look into the backwardness of the
