Azamgarh: Alleging that officials of the Uttar Pradesh government have "gone out of control" in the present Mayawati regime and are working on their own will, Samajwadi Party on Monday asked its workers to prepare lists of such officers so that they could be brought to book when the party comes to power in the state.
"The officers are functioning in an autocratic manner in the present regime. You all (party workers) should prepare lists of such officers so that they should be brought to book, when our party comes to power in the state," SP leader Shivpal Singh Yadav told the party workers here.
Yadav was here to meet family members of the two SP workers who were killed during a clash with BSP workers in Atraulia during local body polls on December 22.
He announced Rs 2.5 lakh for the kin of the two deceased workers and Rs 50,000 to those injured in the clash.
Yadav also alleged that the BSP government was framing party workers in fake cases and said the people of the state would give a reply to the BSP in the next polls.
Meanwhile, the district police today announced rewards of Rs 5,000 each on the two absconding persons accused of killing the two SP workers.
The reward has been declared on former Panchayat Chairman Vikram Bahadur Singh and Ajay Singh accused of killing Mahendra Yadav and Ram Awadh on December 22 when they clashed in Atraulia during the local body polls, police said.
Both of them have been absconding since the incident while the third accused, Shailesh Singh, was arrested by the police yesterday.
