 Six revenue officials were suspended in the alleged Hastinapur land grab case, authorities said today.

Muzaffarnagar: Six revenue officials were suspended in the alleged Hastinapur land grab case, authorities said today.

The six revenue clerks - Omvir, Shiv Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Amlesh Singh, Ramesh Chand and Pramod - have been booked and are absconding, Additional District Magistrate Indermani Tripathi said.

Cases as many as 30 have been registered in different police stations against the alleged encroachment on government land in 27 villages in the district.

Over 12 people including two other revenue clerks - Jai Bhagwan and Pratap - and a retired revenue officer were sent to jail in the connection, he said.
Seven persons accused land grab case surrendered before police on December 24 and were later sent to judicial custody by a court here.
